Short Description: |
KEM Lainsitztal has set a motto titled “Self-sufficient into the future – Every step counts!”, which primarily denotes a goal to accelerate energy efficiency. Consequently, this decrease in energy consumption is intended to be covered via targeted usage of renewable energy sources. In the continuation phase, one of the main focal points will be the area of fossil oil heating. Within the course of a pilot initiative called “Breaking free from fossil fuel”, already existing oil heating is meant to be replaced with environmentally friendly pellet and wood heating. Impacted citizens are intended to receive support through the “Rundum-Sorglos-Paket/All-round carefree package”, in order to be able to switch to renewable heating systems as easily as possible. Additionally, all participating municipalities of KEM Lainsitztal are striving for the award “Ölfreie Gemeinde/ Oil/Fossil-free Municipality”. Within the area of renewable energy, the focus will be on photovoltaics. The share of energy through sun power is primarily meant to be increased through the continuation of a citizen participation model. Further emphasis is being put on the are of energy efficiency within the topic of mobility. Here, the region offers major potential. Acceleration of e-mobility or incentives for biking and walking are merely two key points. Moreover, climate relevant topics are being broadcast to the general public in a series called “The sun and mankind”; the product of a cooperation between SONNENWELT Großschönau, Freies Radio Freistadt and energy experts. Continued cultivation of awareness around topics like storage technologies and sustainable lifestyle, measures for increased biomass utilization, school projects, information about funding, as well as targeted distribution of funding through the KEM region represent further key points. Furthermore, energy efficiency within the public as well as private sphere regarding buildings are meant to be improved. |
